How it works

Four steps, mostly quiet.

01
Open a shelf

Scan ISBNs or type titles. You decide what lends and what stays.

02
Meet neighbours

Browse shelves near you by ward. Follow the readers whose taste resembles yours.

03
Agree & post

Both sign a light agreement. Japan Post picks up, delivers in 2–3 days.

04
Return & note

When it comes back, write a short note. Your cluster sees it first.

Manifesto
On the quiet economy of finished books.

A book you have read is a book you could pass on. Lend the Library exists because most shelves are half-finished libraries, and most readers live within a kilometre of someone whose taste resembles theirs. We made the slow version of a library — one that travels by post, and leaves a note behind.
